I am represented by Kathleen Rushall at Andrea Brown Literary Agency.
I’m the author of Goldy Luck and the Three Pandas, and met you at the California School Librarian Association Conference in the Spring. We sat next to each other at the signing tables. I just wanted to let you know I finally had a chance to read Mountain Chef and I loved it! I love your visual imagery and hearing about Tai Sing’s story. I thought it was brilliant how you weaved the facts through a very accessible story-telling style. In fact, I taught a Narrative Nonfiction manuscript workshop at the Book Passage Writer’s Conference this past weekend, and I held up your book as one of the examples of great Narrative Nonfiction writing. Anyway, I always like to tell authors when I really like a book and why because, you know, as an author, it’s always nice to know…
I met a writer at Book Passage who also writes nonfiction and she had an idea about getting a small group of narrative nonfiction writers (4 or 5) in a Twitter Group so we can each connect with each other as well as take turns tweeting about various nonfiction-related posts. I thought of you, and wanted to ask if you would be interested in joining us in this venture. This would also give us collectively and individually more of a twitter presence. I’m not a big tweeter (twitterer?) but know I have to learn how to do this better as many agents/editors hang out on Twitter now.
All my best, and hope Mountain Chef is selling well and you’re having a great summer!
